Yes, Classic Catering supplies plates, napkins and cutlery with corporate catering in Melbourne. Our eco pack costs $2.20 per person ex GST ($2.42 inc GST) and includes a 7-inch sugarcane plate, a wooden knife and fork, and a napkin for each guest. Items can also be ordered separately: plates $1.00, knife, fork and napkin $1.30, wooden spoons $1.00 and extra napkins 15c each (ex GST). Everything is packed and delivered with your food.
What's in the eco plate, napkin and cutlery pack?
Each pack serves one guest and holds everything they need to eat at a desk, a boardroom table or a training room. It is made from plant-based materials, so there is no plastic to sort out afterwards.

Do you need plates and cutlery for office catering?
It depends on what you order and where people will eat. Sandwiches, wraps and pastries are easy to eat by hand, but cups of salad, fruit and granola need a fork or spoon. If your office kitchen doesn't stock enough plates and cutlery for everyone, add a pack per guest.

Why are our catering plates and cutlery plastic-free?
Victoria banned single-use plastic cutlery, plates, straws, drink stirrers and polystyrene food containers from 1 February 2023. Our pack is built around that: sugarcane plates and wooden cutlery, which break down in commercial composting instead of sitting in landfill for centuries.
Good for your sustainability reporting too. If your workplace tracks waste or has an ESG policy, plant-based tableware is an easy win. Check whether your building has a compost or organics bin. If not, the pack can go in general waste.
How much do caterers charge for plates and cutlery in Melbourne?
Melbourne caterers usually charge between about $1 and $2.60 per person for a disposable plate, napkin and cutlery set, and some build the cost into higher package prices. Our eco pack is $2.20 per person ex GST, or $2.42 including GST, and you only pay for it when you need it.

Are your catering plates and cutlery compostable?+
Yes. The plates are made from sugarcane fibre and the cutlery from wood, so both can go in commercial compost or organics collection. Victoria has banned single-use plastic plates and cutlery since February 2023.
Do I need cutlery for a sandwich or wrap lunch?+
Sandwiches, wraps and pastries can be eaten by hand, but our packages include fruit, salad or granola cups that need a fork or spoon. If your office doesn't have enough cutlery for everyone, add a pack per guest.
Can I order plates, cutlery or napkins separately?+
Yes. A 7-inch sugarcane plate is $1.00, a wooden knife, fork and napkin set is $1.30, a wooden spoon is $1.00 and extra cocktail napkins are 15c each, all ex GST. The full pack at $2.20 is 10c cheaper than buying the plate and cutlery separately.
Is a spoon included in the pack?+
No. The pack includes a knife and fork. Wooden spoons are $1.00 each ex GST, which is worth adding if your order includes granola cups.
How many plate and cutlery packs should I order?+
Order one per guest, plus about one spare for every 10 guests to cover late arrivals and trainers.
Is the eco pack price inclusive of GST?+
No. Like all our corporate prices, $2.20 per person is ex GST. Including GST it is $2.42 per person.
Can you supply ceramic plates and metal cutlery instead?+
Yes, for staffed functions and sit-down events. Ceramic plates and metal cutlery are quoted per event. Send us your date, venue and guest count.
